What does Islam teach about Muslim Allegiance to Non-Muslim Governments ?

Sura (4:141) – “…And never will Allah grant to the unbelievers a way (to triumphs) over the believers.”

Sura (3:28) – “Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers … “ The word ‘friend’ is Awliyaa which is inclusive of friends, protectors and helpers – the components of civil society. See also Sura (5:51)

Sura (4:59) – “O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority from among you…” Oddly enough, this verse is sometimes used in an attempt to make the case that Muslims should respect a non-Muslim civil government. A careful reading, however, shows that the verse is directed to Muslims and it commands them to respect the authority drawn only from among their own body of believers.

Sura (9:23) – “O ye who believe! Choose not your fathers nor your brethren for friends if they take pleasure in disbelief rather than faith. Whoso of you taketh them for friends, such are wrong-doers”

Sura (28:17) – “O my Lord! For that Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace on me, never shall I be a help to those who sin!” It is difficult to reconcile this verse with the civic duty of a public office holder in a pluralistic society.

On the authority of Muslim Nafi’a reported saying: “Umar said to me that he heard the Prophet saying: Whoso takes off his hand from allegiance to Allah (swt) will meet Him (swt) on the Day of Resurrection …, and whoso dies whilst there was no bay’ah (allegiance or a pledge) on his neck (to a Khaleefah), he dies a death of jahiliyyah.”

In the meantime, right now millions of Muslims are working to make our nations into The Islamic republic of Europe, they have come out and made clear their aims, “Islam is the future for Europe!” They do not hide their agenda, they are gaining power in government, police, the civil service and have expressed in NO uncertain terms that their allegiance lies with their religion, rather than Queen and country.

[IN OTHER WORDS : 'UNLESS you embrace Islam,  I have no allegiance nor loyalty towards you whatsoever.' It is as clear as the sky that this constitutes discrimination based on beliefs. If this view were held by a non-Muslim, he/she would be held to account. BUT Muslims apparently can get away with MURDER !]

A 2006 Pew poll showed 81 percent of Muslims surveyed considered their Islamic identity more important than being British. Like some others, Durrani says she would take part in the electoral process only if it were based on Islamic law and the Koran.

UK, 2007, Abu Izzadeen: ” And because Islam is not written by a man, I can’t change it. But because democracy’s written by a man, they can change it to accommodate the Muslims. I’m born here. US, 2003: Muslim Family Sues Over Pledge of Allegiance : Yusef Ali El, a Moorish-American Moslem, said the Pledge and anthem are contrary to his children’s religion. “The heart of my complaint is harassment of my children for not reciting the Pledge and national anthem,” El said Monday. “They were put out of band class.”

Muslim Ellison should not sit in US Congress : by placing his hand on the Quran, can a true believer in the Islamic doctrine found in the Quran swear allegiance to the US Constitution ? Those who profess a sincere belief in Allah say “no!” WHY ? Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

So, when a Muslim takes the United States’ Pledge of Allegiance, he is either ignorant of the implications of his pledge or is lying willfully. Ex-Muslim Daniel Shayesteh : “Any Muslim who denies allegiance to Islam and its founder Mohammed can expect three outcomes: ostracism, imprisonment, or death.”

Websites denounce British Muslim soldiers: UK, FEB 2007, A member of a chatroom run by the Followers of Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah, said joining the British Army or police is “clearly haram [forbidden] and a sin.” One leading member of the group said that anyone who did the following was a non-believer: “applying for jobs that are asking Muslims to join the MI5 to infiltrate the community; co-operating with the Government by asking Muslim parents to spy on their children; working with deviant sects who ask us to join the crusading British Army; swearing an oath of allegiance to the fallible Queen“.

A fatwa [religious ruling] by a man calling himself Afdal al-Jihad and posted on a mainstream web community is titled “Muslims serving in an Army of Kuffar” [non-believers]. Al-Jihad says: “Muslims cannot fight under the banner of kuffar or with them; Muslims must avoid attaching themselves to nation states; Muslims must avoid harming and fighting other Muslims.”

On a web forum called the Muslim Public Affairs Committee, not all the visitors agreed that it was un-Islamic to join the Army. But many said swearing allegiance to the Queen was against Islam.

Abu Musa, Blackburn, 17 Mar 08: It is totally against Islam to pledge allegiance to the Head of the Church of England. The Muslims allegience is only to Allah(swt), the Prophet(saw) and fellow Muslims. The pledge of allegience in orthodox Islamic teachings is given to a Muslim Ameer or a Caliph. It’s absurd to pledge allegience to a non-Muslim, let alone the Head of the Church of England. Muslims must be careful of ‘uncle toms’ in their communities- who have no knowledge of the Quran and Prophetic Practice promoting pledging allegience to the queen.

Ex-Muslim IBN WARRAQ : CANADA, June 2007, “One day in the (Canadian Muslim family’s) kitchen, her children were all very excited, because there was a big ice-hockey match, between a Canadian team, and the Sabres, I think, in Buffalo. And they were all very much, of course, for the Canadian team. They were saying, “Mama, we are really going, we are really Canadian, we really want the Canadians to win!” And she said she brought all the kids into the kitchen, and said, “Listen. Don’t you ever forget. You are not Canadians. You are Muslims.” This was their primary identity. And you can imagine the conflicts this must have engendered in the children. What they will be going through in the next few years, I don’t know. All Muslims swear allegiance to the ummah, the worldwide Islamic community. So the dangers don’t come, won’t come just from suicide bombers, but ordinary Muslms, who just somehow have been taught, from a very early age, to shun Western values. They’ve been told that the West is a den of iniquity. This is a big problem. I think it’s going to be a problem of loyalty, it’s a problem of identity. They have no interest in Canadian history, why they are so happy, what it is that guarantees their freedom. They don’t know anything about the Constitution. They’re just happy to, to profit from it, without having any kind of allegiance, or gratitude, to a system that has grown over a number of years. ”
