I will try and keep this brief and to the point. I am an American ex-patriot currently living in San Diego that married an Muslim Indonesian Muslim and have worked and lived in Indonesia on and off for about 6 of the past ten years with both American companies and local companies working in mainly Jakarta and Bandung but have traveled and worked in most of Indonesia and the surrounding islands. That having been said, you article prompted me to congratulate you on your courage and well thought out article pertaining to what I think is the most important issue facing the world. I have to admit, as many books on the subject I have written and articles myself that I have written to numerous well known news sites, I am still amazed at how non-Muslim nations of the world still remain ignorant on even the most basic principles of Islam and still consider it a religion of peace when Mohammad himself made his living by looting, enslaving women and children after killing their husbands and taking their property, robbing, killing innocent people for their land and money to name just a few outstanding issues that I would think make many people leery considering Islam a religion of peace or a religion at all.

That having been said, as a concerned husband and a concerned American seeing the special provisions and special rights given only to Muslims in this country, I can’t even get Muslim’s to read articles such as yours because they just consider it lies and untruths. In their eyes, Mohammad could do no wrong. Most Muslims I know couldn’t even tell you what the Hadith’s and Sira are which actually brag about some of the exploits of Mohammad. In fact, my father-in-law in Bandung still tries to convert me and refuses to even consider Islam isn’t the way for the entire world. When I point out that 99.9 percent of all terrorist acts are committed by Muslims around the world he tells me that is a lie, when I tell him that Saudi Arabia is the largest sponsor of terrorism in the world he tells me that is a lie. The examples are endless and I suspect you know most of them. Right here in San Diego we have a local Muslim group trying to get prayer rooms in all our public schools yet forbid their kids of saying the pledge of allegiance to our flag and forbid their kids from socializing with non Muslims. What makes matters worse, our passive politicians cater to every word and unreasonable request by these people since they believe that if we give them everything they want, the problem will go away. One only has to look at Denmark, Holland and now even England where Muslim communities and demanding Sharia Law and getting it and now Muslim men are now permitted to marry more than one wife and even collect welfare and all their wives yet if a non Muslim did this they would immediately be put in prison.

If you have an remedy for this issues I would love to heard about it through your articles. I have been a fan of http://www.faithfreedom.org for sometime and a truly believe it is one of the best sites available for both non Muslims and Muslims alike to understand and learn about Islam through the eyes of ex Muslims. You have my respect and admiration since surely you are not only intelligence people but extremely brave since I am one of the few expatriates that have felt and seen up-close what this religion can do to the mind, freedom, and self respect of people.
