Alt tractat Saudit intitulat Avertizare in Legatura cu Femeile Musulmane, ataca pozitia femeilor care vor sa lucreze in afara propriei case.

Pope meets with King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia (to be translated)
VATICAN CITY, November 6, 2007: Pope Benedict XVI lauded the contributions of Christians in Saudi Arabia — a country that embraces a strict version of Islam, restricts worship by other faiths and bans Bibles and crucifixes — in the first meeting ever between a pope and reigning Saudi king.

Benedict and the Vatican’s No. 2 official raised their concerns during separate meetings with King Abdullah, the protector of Islam’s holiest sites.
The Vatican counts 890,000 Catholics, mainly guest workers from the Philippines, among the estimated 1.5 million Christians in Saudi Arabia. Christians (or any non-Muslims) are barred from opening churches in the desert kingdom where Islam’s holiest sites, Mecca and Medina, are located.
“The Vatican authorities expressed their hope for the prosperity of all the inhabitants of the country, and mention was made of the positive and industrious presence of Christians,” said the Vatican communique on the meetings referring in diplomatic language to the religious plight of non-Muslims in the kingdom.
Benedict greeted the king warmly, grasping both his hands before heading into 30 minutes of private talks in his library. At the end of the meeting, Abdullah presented Benedict with a traditional Middle Eastern gift — a golden sword studded with jewels — and a gold and silver statue of a palm tree and a man riding a camel. The pope admired the statue but merely touched the sword.
Islam is the official religion of Saudi Arabia and the kingdom requires all Saudi citizens to be Muslims. Only Muslims can visit the cities of Mecca and Medina.

“All religions other than Islam are heresy and error. Any place designated for worship other than [that of] Islam is a place of heresy and error, for it is forbidden to worship Allah in any way other than the way that Allah has prescribed in Islam. The law of Islam (shari’a) is the final and definitive religious law. It applies to all men and jinns and abrogates all that came before it. This is a matter about which there is consensus.”Those who claim that there is truth in what the Jews say, or in what the Christians say – whether he is one of them or not – is denying the Koran and the Prophet Muhammad’s sunna and the consensus of the Muslim nation… Allah said: ‘The only reason I sent you was to bring good tidings and warnings to all [Koran 34:28]‘; ‘Oh people, I am Allah’s Messenger to you all [Koran 7:158]‘; ‘Allah’s religion is Islam [3:19]‘; ‘Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it shall not be accepted from him [3:85]‘; ‘The unbelievers from among the people of the Book [i.e. Jews and Christians] and the polytheists are in hellfire and will be [there] forever. They are the worst of all creation… [98:6].’
